← Events · SvS (Server vs Server) is Last War’s biggest competitive event — two servers get matched and fight over several days on points. For the weekly cycle see the Events hub; for the full server arc, the timeline.
Let me start with my first SvS. I’d ground out prep points all week, and on Saturday I marched out everything I had, riding the hype. Didn’t even glance at my hospital capacity. You can guess how that went. The moment your wounded overflow the hospital, they stop being “wounded” and become “dead.” Troops that took days to train, gone in an afternoon. Since that day I open my hospital screen before joining any fight, and this guide is basically me handing that habit to you.
One-line principle
Sun–Fri is prep; Saturday’s capital battle is the real thing. Stack points across the five prep days to open the reward boxes, but save your actual combat resources — troops and kills — for Saturday. Kill points are worth dramatically more on battle day.
The biweekly cycle
The match is usually announced 5–7 days ahead, and you can feel the mood shift on both servers when that notice drops. During prep (Sun–Fri), each day scores a different action — building, research, training, heroes, combat, and so on — so you pour your stockpile into that day’s theme and build personal points. Then Saturday’s capital battle arrives: the whole server clashing on kills and captures. Kill points run several times any prep day, which is why I think of the prep days as nothing more than a build-up to that one Saturday.
Prep-day scoring (daily themes)
The daily themes rotate much like Alliance Duel. The typical arc:
| Day | What scores |
|---|---|
| Early (Sun·Mon) | Build & research speedups |
| Mid (Tue·Wed) | Training, drone, hero upgrades |
| Late (Thu·Fri) | Battle prep & resource use |
| Sat | Capital battle — kills & captures |
Sync with Alliance Duel: the same resources triple-count — SvS personal points + Alliance Duel points + real growth. Line the calendars up and do it once.
Personal boxes and Valor Medals
There are 9 personal boxes, opening at point thresholds up to 2.25M for the last one. Sounds like a lot, but honest prep-day scoring claims most of them — as a light spender I can’t remember an SvS where I didn’t finish the row.
The real prize is Valor Medals. They’re SvS’s core reward currency, and they feed the black market route to orange (legendary) gear — for F2P and light spenders there’s simply no faster gear source (shop guide). You also pick up UR hero shards, skill medals, gear materials, and diamonds along the way. One tip: don’t let medals sit. Decide what they’re buying before you earn them, or you’ll miss the black-market window.
Battle day (Saturday)
Rallies are everything. That’s another lesson I paid tuition for — early on I couldn’t wait for a rally and slammed solo into a high-value target, and my squad evaporated on the spot. Since then, capital or high-value target, I only go in as an alliance rally (alliance guide). Coordinate over external voice or chat; in-game chat simply can’t keep pace on battle day. My alliance’s results before and after we set up Discord are not the same results.
Wounded management is the story from the top of this page: exceed hospital capacity and troops die, so fight at a scale you can actually absorb. And the troops and speedups you saved all through prep? Commit them at the battle peak, shields timed to match.
The usual mistakes, in one place
Burning your main troops during prep means you can’t score when it matters — prep is for upgrades and points, combat is for Saturday. Spending speedups off-theme scores zero, so check the day’s theme first. Soloing just donates kills to the other server (I’m living proof). And ignoring your Valor Medals is the most painful one of all — that’s the black-market orange gear window sliding past you.
