Alliance Duel (VS) — Daily Themes & Score Strategy

← Events · Pairs well with the Arms Race guide. Alliance Duel runs on daily themes, so dumping resources on the right day is basically the whole game.

Confession first. I once torched an entire stash of research speedups without checking the day’s theme. It wasn’t research day. Score: zero. Resources gone, and not a single point contributed to the Duel. When our R4 posted the score standings in alliance chat that evening, I wanted to crawl under my HQ. I’m writing this so at least one of you doesn’t repeat that.

Scoring

The Duel is a 6-day competition, Mon–Sat, and each day the higher-scoring side takes that day’s points. The values: Day 1 = 1 pt, Days 2–5 = 2 pts each, Day 6 = 4 pts. That’s 13 total, and 7 points wins.

One piece of arithmetic falls out of this. Win Mon–Thu and you have 1+2+2+2 = 7 — an early clinch by Thursday. So on weeks when we’re clearly stronger, my alliance piles everything through Thursday to close it out, then shifts Fri/Sat resources toward SvS and combat. On weeks where the early days look lost, we flip the plan: Day 6 (Sat, 4 pts) becomes the comeback key, and we hold resources for the high-value days. Either way the core idea is identical — spreading evenly across all six days is the worst thing you can do.

Daily themes & what to do

DayTheme (typical)What to dump
Day 1 (Mon)Drone/radar (radar training)Drone parts · battle data — hoard all week, dump Monday
Day 2 (Tue)Build/growthBuild speedups, base power (confirm in-game)
Day 3 (Wed)ResearchResearch speedups/completions. Focus Valor-badge research (Alliance Duel/Intercity Truck/Special Forces)
Day 4 (Thu)Hero growthSaved EXP/shards/skill medals to level heroes/squad (high value)
Day 5 (Fri)Troop trainingTraining/promotions (confirm in-game)
Day 6 (Sat)Combat (Enemy Buster)Attacks/kills. The week’s climax, most intense

Tue/Fri themes can differ by server or patch. My burned research speedups came down to exactly this — not checking. Confirm the day’s theme in-game before you spend.

How I run it

The hoarding rule fits in two lines: drone parts wait until Monday, hero materials (shards, EXP, skill medals) wait until Thursday. Those two habits alone change your Duel contribution. On Wednesdays, aim your research at the Valor-badge trees for better score efficiency, and on Saturdays fight with alliance calls, rallies, and shields ready so the combat day doesn’t cost you troops. Also worth timing: make the same action land inside the matching Arms Race phase, and it scores on both boards at once — the Arms Race guide linked up top goes deeper on that sync.

The common mistakes are just these rules inverted. Spend drone parts and shards on random weekdays and your Monday/Thursday come up empty; spread across all six days and you’ve got nothing left for the high-value ones (Thu/Sat). Keep “7 points” in mind and the right place to concentrate becomes obvious.

The variable nobody measures: who actually shows up

Alliance Duel rewards coordination more than strength, and the thing that most often breaks coordination is not strategy — it is attendance. An alliance that concentrates on the right day with two thirds of its members present loses to one that turns up in full on a worse day.

The problem is that the game gives you almost no way to see this. It shows the result, not who contributed to it, and by the following week nobody remembers which round was thin.

This is why our PC collector keeps participation history per member across the alliance battlefields. Desert war and canyon rounds are recorded as they happen, so an alliance can look back at which rounds had full turnout and which did not, instead of arguing from memory. The same history feeds a lineup helper that sorts a roster into a starting group and reserves, weighted by who has actually been showing up. Details are on the collector page.

What to do with the record

Match records are far more informative than win-loss counts. A one-point loss and a blowout both read as “1 loss”, but they call for completely different responses: consistently large margins mean you are outgunned, while repeatedly losing close rounds usually points at timing and turnout — and that is fixable. Collected records per alliance are on the desert war and canyon pages.
