Everything below comes straight out of our server list (snapshot of 7 September 2026, servers #3–#2308). Want to see where your own server sits? Drop the number into the Season Clock.
TL;DR
- Seasons arrive in waves: hundreds of servers flip at the exact same timestamp, always on a Monday right after reset.
- Since server ~677, waves are almost perfectly 128 servers wide.
- Season 5 lasted anywhere from 126 to 168 days depending on the block. Same season, six weeks of spread.
- Recent blocks enter Season 5 when their youngest server is roughly 518–533 days old.
- Age-only rules (“day 677 = Season 6”) drift fast and fail right at block edges. Real timestamps beat them every time.
Why I went looking
When Season 6 hit my server (#397) on 4 May, alliance chat lit up with the same question over and over: “the server next door got it last week, why are we late?” I didn’t have an answer. I’d assumed every server just ages into the next season on its own schedule.
Then I built the tracker, pulled the Season 5 and 6 start timestamps for every server, and sorted them. The assumption fell apart immediately.
Hundreds of servers, one timestamp
Group servers by their season-start time and you get blocks that share the identical value — not “same day”, same second. Here’s every Season 5 wave on record, with Season 6 after it where it has happened:
A few things you can read straight off that chart:
Early blocks are lumpy, later ones aren’t. #3–68 (64 servers), #69–196 (128), #197–420 (224), #421–676 (256) — then from #677 onward it’s 128, 128, 128… My read is that the early grouping was closer to hand-tuned, and at some point the game settled into fixed blocks. It’s no coincidence that 128 is also the migration group size for Season 5+; more on that in how migration groups are built.
Every wave lands on a Monday. All 16 Season 5/6 start times fall on a Monday, right after the daily reset. Seasons never start mid-week, which is why “Season 6, week 7” lines up neatly with the server’s own weekly calendar.
Waves regroup between seasons. #69–196 and #197–420 entered Season 5 a week apart, but got Season 6 on the same day. So the Season 6 wave was #69–420, a different cut from Season 5’s. Block edges aren’t permanent.
How long was Season 5, really?
Only seven blocks have made it all the way to Season 6, so those are the ones we can measure end to end:
| Block | S5 start | S6 start | S5 length |
|---|---|---|---|
| #3–68 | 2025-11-03 | 2026-04-13 | 161 d |
| #69–196 | 2025-11-17 | 2026-05-04 | 168 d |
| #197–420 | 2025-11-24 | 2026-05-04 | 161 d |
| #421–676 | 2025-12-01 | 2026-05-11 | 161 d |
| #677–804 | 2026-01-12 | 2026-06-01 | 140 d |
| #805–932 | 2026-02-23 | 2026-06-29 | 126 d |
| #933–1060 | 2026-04-06 | 2026-08-24 | 140 d |
That’s 18 to 24 weeks. You’ll see “a season lasts 60–90 days” in plenty of guides, and that’s roughly true for the main event programme — but the gap until the next season number shows up is far longer. There’s a long tail after the headline content.
When does a block get promoted?
Flip the question around and ask how old each server was when its block got Season 5:
| Block | Age at S5 (days) |
|---|---|
| #3–68 | 688–866 |
| #69–196 | 666–702 |
| #197–420 | 602–673 |
| #421–676 | 525–609 |
| #677–804 | 519–566 |
| #805–932 | 518–561 |
| #933–1060 | 523–559 |
| #1061–1188 | 520–571 |
| #1189–1316 | 519–562 |
| #1317–1444 | 533–581 |
The first blocks waited over two years. From #677 on, the youngest server in each block sits at 518–533 days when the wave hits, very consistently. The 40–50 day spread inside each block is just how long it took the game to open 128 servers. The model that fits best: once a block’s youngest server reaches a certain age, the whole block moves. At least for Season 5.
Where the age rule breaks
We don’t have start timestamps before Season 5, so for older seasons the site falls back to an age rule: 153 days → S1, 241 → S2, 361 → S3, 454 → S4, 533 → S5, 677 → S6. It reproduces an outside calendar’s season labels for 2,299 of 2,304 servers (99.78%). Sounds great. Two problems:
- It drifts. The same method on 17 August produced 134/220/340/457/561/693. Reusing those three weeks later dropped accuracy to 89.5%. Boundaries moved ~20 days in three weeks, because block lengths vary.
- It can’t see block edges. #1444 and #1445 opened on the same day (23 March 2025). One is Season 5, the other Season 4. Identical age, different season — the thing separating them is the block edge at 1444, which no age rule can know about.
It’s getting worse right now, too. As of our 22 September recompute, the age rule puts 1,094 servers in Season 6, but only 1,056 actually have a Season 6 start time. The 38 extra are #1061–#1098: old enough by age, but their block’s youngest members aren’t, so the wave hasn’t come. That’s exactly why the Season Clock prefers a real timestamp over the age rule whenever one exists.
So when’s the next wave?
Nobody outside the studio knows, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. What history gives you is a range.
The front-most Season 5 block right now is #1061–1188, promoted on 25 May. Apply the Season 5 lengths above (126–168 days) and you get 28 September to 9 November. Six weeks wide, because the past was six weeks wide.
Waves into Season 5 have their own rhythm: 12 Jan, 23 Feb, 6 Apr, 25 May, 6 Jul, 7 Sep — one 128-block every six to nine weeks. The next block in line starts at #1445; if the rhythm holds, that’s mid-October to early November. That’s a pattern, not a forecast.
Why you’d care
- End-of-season Black Market. It sells exclusive-weapon shard selectors, and for free/light players it’s the most realistic way to finish a weapon. Once your block enters the “historical range”, start hoarding the currency. I stop spending it the week the range opens.
- Migration targets. Servers in the same wave change seasons together. Jump to a different block and you may repeat or skip a stretch of season. Check whether a target shares your wave before you commit.
- Answering alliance chat. “Why did they get it first?” — different block, and a gap of one to several weeks is normal. Same block but different timing? That would genuinely be weird, and we’d love to hear about it.
Caveats
This is observation, not an announcement; a schedule change from the studio ends every rhythm described here on the spot. The Season 5/6 timestamps come from an outside calendar, so if it’s wrong, so are we. And no new server has opened since #2308 on 7 August 2026, so the last few blocks may not behave like earlier ones — see new server openings have stopped.
