← Spending · Before we talk VIP, one misunderstanding needs clearing up. VIP is two separate axes — level (permanent) and VIP Time (active) — and if you mentally lump them together, half your investment floats off into nothing. A level, once reached, is yours forever and grows daily even for free. The buffs are a different story. For how it ties to packs and shops, see package value.
Core idea — level is permanent, buffs need VIP Time
VIP level is permanent. Once points push you to a level, that level and its unlocks (heroes, features) stay forever; it never drops. The catch is the % stat buffs. Resource output, march, build speed and the rest only apply while VIP Time is active — when Time lapses, the same level’s % buffs go dormant.
I learned this one the hard way. Early on I’d just watch the level number and feel good about it, until one day my build timers looked strangely long and I discovered Time had been off for days. So the hidden key is keeping VIP Time unbroken with the Super Monthly (Dawn Fund) — otherwise you only use half the level you worked for (monthly explainer).
Stacking VIP points for free
| Source | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Daily VIP chest | up to 200/day | Skip it and you toss 6,000 pts/month |
| Alliance gifts | Varies | Any member buying an eligible pack shares points with all (alliance) |
| Diamond conversion | 1 diamond = 1 pt | Cap 2,500 per purchase. Only near a milestone |
| Packs | Varies | Bundled in initial buy, daily sales, etc. |
Just never missing the daily VIP chest grows an F2P VIP naturally — it’s the biggest source. For me it’s become a wake-up habit; reset lands in the morning here in Chiang Mai, so the chest is the first thing I open.
VIP Time activation cost (diamonds)
24h = 1,000 · 7 days = 3,000 · 30 days = 10,000. You can light it with diamonds directly, but the Super Monthly keeps 30-day uptime cheaper and automatic. If you’re playing steadily, the monthly is the answer.
Key level milestones
Not all levels are equal. These milestones are where the value is.
| VIP | Unlock / effect | Value |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Adventurer Taylor (HQ assign, extra radar-task treasure) | ★★ |
| 6 | Second builder — effectively doubles build speed, for the account’s life | ★★★★★ |
| 8 | Agent Shirley (march size & attack buff) + Honorable Campaign auto-battle | ★★★★ |
| 11 | Build +50% · Research +15% (cumulative) | ★★★★ |
| 14–15 | Healing & training speed — felt in sustained PvP / SvS | ★★★ |
| 18 | Hero HP/ATK/DEF +12.5% + VIP 18 skins | ★★★ |
The second builder (VIP 6) is worth more than anything you can buy with diamonds. Early on, push toward 6 → 8 → 11 as your milestones. Honestly, 14 and above isn’t low-spender territory — the big spenders in my alliance live up there, and the pace their healing and training turns over during SvS is visibly different. Enviable, sure. Necessary to chase? No.
F2P play
- Always claim the daily VIP chest (6,000 pts/mo). That’s the main trunk.
- Keep VIP Time on via the monthly → use 100% of your level’s % buffs (packages).
- Only convert diamonds right before a milestone (6, 8, 11). Otherwise spend diamonds on permanent upgrades. I’ve done the conversion exactly once — right before hitting 6.
- Be in an active alliance where gifts flow — a big passive VIP-point pillar (alliance). Something I’ve noticed as an R4: in alliances where gifts circulate well, you can see it in how fast everyone’s VIP grows.
VIP Store
Higher VIP levels grow the store discounts and exclusive items. Just letting your level rise naturally lifts shop value, so don’t miss your dailies (shop guide).
Common mistakes
First, not claiming the daily VIP chest — that’s 6,000 pts a month thrown away, the worst waste there is. Second, letting VIP Time lapse: high level, dormant % buffs, half the efficiency. That’s the one that cost me a few days. Third, converting diamonds when you’re nowhere near a milestone — it drains diamonds you’d want for permanent upgrades. Convert only right before 6, 8, or 11.
