Core principle — the mono squad
Five heroes of the same troop type (a mono squad) is the strongest setup. Two reasons:
- The Exclusive Weapon Lv20 “+7.5% to the same troop type” applies to all five.
- A mono-squad stat bonus unlocks after Capital occupation (HQ32).
Placement is 2 front (tanks) · 3 back (dealers/support). Mixed comps miss both bonuses, so they only matter late once weapons are well-built. Last War’s UR exclusive-weapon heroes come in exactly five per troop type, so all three classes can field a complete mono.

→ Missile has many dealers but no front line or support of its own. Borrow tanks (Murphy/Williams) up front or cover with shields/rallies. Pick Tesla for PvE-heavy play, Fiona for PvP.
F2P backbone
- Start: Murphy (front) + Mason (SSR→UR promotion) + Marshall (support) + Kimberly (carry — top priority if you get her).
- Order: one main carry 5★ → EW Lv20 → front (Murphy/Williams) EW Lv20 → support/utility.
- Top up EW shards for free from the post-season Black Market. (See Spending Efficiency.)
Common mistakes
- Starting mixed → no mono buff or capital bonus, so it’s weak. Commit to one troop type.
- Raising several carries at once → take one to EW Lv20 first.
- Dealers with no front line → the carry dies fast. Put up 2 front-liners first.
